Have you ever imagined places that are completely ruled by animals, and humans can’t even near them? There are places on earth like the Snake Island that just says a straight “No” to humans. Obviously, the earth is so big that there should be one or the other places for animals too to be ruling for themselves. And the ones gathered here either permit or prohibit based on the consequences. We have come up with the 10 places where animals rule and the animals’ count outnumber the humans.

10. Fox Village, Japan

Fox Village is one of the best tourist destinations in Japan. Located in the Miyagi in Japan, the Fox Village comprises of six different types of fox varieties. One of which happens to be the rare silver foxes. Also recognized as “Miyagi Zao Fox Village”, the visitors are prohibited to feed them as the foxes there are not domesticated. Furthermore, the children are cautioned to bring into the fox island as a precautionary measure by the authorities. The entire island of foxes has been ruling by a variant of foxes and viewing them is simply mesmerizing.

9. Land of the Stray Dogs, Costa Rica

I love dogs and seems like this is the right place for me to check-in once a lifetime. This can simply look like heaven for people who are dog lovers. Located in Territorio de Zanguates, Costa Rica, the land of stray dogs consists of 970 stray dogs that just explore the greenish landscape with complete freedom. All the dogs here are rescued by the rescue team in Costa Rica. Furthermore, an interesting fact to know that each dog that joins their family is provided with a name. Additionally, dogs are even adoptable. If you have a pet dog and plan for this location, then this can be the best play area for your pet dog. Finally, it is situated an hour away from downtown San Jose. The mountain where the dogs reside is about 378 acres and the mountain view along with the stray dogs can melt your heart.

8. Komodo Island, Indonesia

An island filled with the Komodo dragon, Komodo Island. The island falls under the territories of the Republic of Indonesia. Additionally, it holds the maximum number of Komodo dragons at a single place. Komodo Island is one of the 17,508 Indonesian islands. Considered as the largest living lizard on Earth, the island comprises a large concentration of Komodo dragons. There are about 2000 people residing in Komodo. Finally, Komodo island is temporarily closed as an initiative for conserving and preventing animal-smuggling.

7. Cat Island, Japan

Also known as “Aoshima”, Cat Island is a fantastic place for those who love cats. Located in Japan, the feline population has been estimated to be around 130 in 2018. Additionally, the island is about 1 mile away from a district called Nagahama. The cats living here are simply amazing and attract a lot of tourists across the globe.

In recent years, the feline population has outnumbered the humans and they rule the island like a king now. Further, the cats can be seen socializing with people and eat food offered by them. Henceforth, the cats often crowd up in the harbor along the footpath making a pleasing moment for tourists.

6. Rabbit Island, Japan

If you are a Rabbit lover, then Rabbit Island is a perfect place for you. Also recognized as “Usagi Shima”, the Island is filled with a lot of feral rabbits. And these rabbits wandering here are neither dangerous to be scared nor they are afraid of you. These feral rabbits approach people without fear and eat up stuff offered by them. Located in the Inland Sea of Japan, the island was used in World War II. It was used as a prime location by Japanese to test and research chemical warfare.

Then rabbits were as well used for chemical tests. But the ones that were involved in chemical munitions are no longer alive on this island.  Rabbits are now the owner of the island and rule completely with no hassle. Awesome to note that the rabbits are friendly here and never harm the tourists. Finally, hunting rabbits are prohibited on this island. As well, dogs and cats are not permitted too as part of rabbit conservation measures.

5. Penguin Island, Australia

Penguins rule to the fullest in the Penguin Island. Located off the coast of Western Australia, the island is home for about 1200 penguins. Further, the entire area of land is measured at about 31 acres. Additionally, the island happens to be one of the best places for tourists to spend time. The island near the Mersey Point and ferry are provided to tourists to reach the spot.

The ice-chilling moments are when the tourists make up their lucky day to spot the little penguin crowd. The breeding of little penguin is considered rare and happens mostly in Penguin Island. Indeed, there are no litter bins on the island. This initiative was to prevent black rats from hovering around the island.

4. Pig Beach, Bahamas

What! An island filled with Pigs? And the answer goes as a Yes! Also recognized as “Pig Island”, the Pig Beach comprises of no humans. The name of the island has been declared unofficially due to feral pigs wandering around the island’s seashore. Located in the Bahamas, the pigs are known to have dropped off by sailors to cook them up later. A very funny fact is that the sailors never turned up for their pork meals. But pigs appearing here suddenly is hidden with an unproven fact. Apart from pigs, there are few cats and goats living there.

3. Snake Island, Brazil

The Snake Island name itself just raises the chills and adrenaline to be very honest. Also recognized as Ilha de Queimada Grande, the island is considered one of the most dangerous places on earth. Located off the coast of Brazil, the island comprises between 1 and 6 snakes per sq. feet. Additionally, the island consists of one of the most venomous snakes, golden pit viper. There are no humans residing there currently.

The lighthouse there was manually operated by human intervention until it was automated. The lighthouse was constructed to steer the ships away from the island as a precautionary measure to protect these snake species. Post automation of lighthouse, no humans were allowed on this island. Brazilian Navy and the permitted researchers are allowed for research and data gathering purposes. The snakes residing here rely on birds for their food. A total of 430,000 snakes reside on Snake Island.

2. Seal Island, South Africa

Just envision a piece of land fully filled with seals. And this scene has come true on earth. Seal Island is one such place which comprises of 5 acres. Located about 5.7 kilometers off the coast of Cape Town in South Africa. In such tiny land, there are about 64,000 cap fur seals. The land is surrounded by great white sharks that are known to kill seals when they come in a certain radius around the land.

Further, the main reason for sharks hovering around Seal Island is due to the dense seal population on the island. Earlier, the island was used during World War II through a radar must. But this was later damaged in a winter storm in 1970. There are still some traces of constructs on Seal Island.

1. Christmas Island Red Crab, Australia

Located in the external territories of Australia, Christmas Island is filled with red crabs. Just imagine the boggling effect of 43.7 million crabs inhibited on the island. The population of red crabs is seen declining due to their rivalry insect, the yellow ants. Yellow ants are recent addition in the Christmas Island that are known to have killed over 10 million red crabs.

Further, the red crabs migrate along the coasts for breeding especially when the moon phase changes. While the crabs are in their breeding seasons, people around tend to be very cautious about the crabs crawling on and along the road. There seems to be a large encounter of crabs being smashed while they are crossing roads towards the sea for breeding. For either of the safety reasons, the motor vehicles are used lesser while they are on their breeding period.
